
Mumbai, April 4 (IANS) Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff took to social media to pay tribute to late actress Parveen Babi on her 72nd birth anniversary.
He remembered her with a nostalgic post, featuring the actress’ pictures from her younger days.
Sharing a collage of her pictures, Jackie posted a monochrome throwback frame from her prime years.
The pictures capture her striking features and timeless screen presence. The post also carried a note that read, “Parveen Babi ji Always in our hearts,” along with her birth and demise dates.
Adding to the nostalgia, Jackie Shroff also used the song “Pyar Karnewale” from the film Shaan as the background score that was originally featured on the actress.
Talking about Parveen Babi, the actress was known as one of the most popular and glamorous actresses of the 1970s and 1980s.
Parveen Babi was also known for redefining the image of the modern Hindi film heroine, and starred in many successful films including Deewaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Shaan, Namak Halaal, Kaala Patthar, Suhaag, among others.
The actress, during her working years, shared screen space with leading stars of the era – Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Dharmendra and others. Her last film appearance was in Iraada.
On the personal front, Parveen Babi’s life was reportedly marked by turbulence. She was reportedly in relationships with actor Kabir Bedi, Danny Denzongpa and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
In her later years, she battled mental health issues and was reported to have suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.
Parveen Babi spent her final years in isolation and passed away on January 20, 2005, at her residence in Mumbai.
