Tejashwi Yadav criticises Bihar govt over unemployment and ‘corruption’

Patna, June 11 (IANS) RJD National Working President Tejashwi Yadav intensified his attack on the ruling NDA government in Bihar, raising issues related to crime, unemployment, inflation, migration, and alleged corruption during a gathering organised at the residence of Rabri Devi to celebrate the birthday of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

According to Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar is witnessing a sharp rise in unemployment, inflation, and migration, while the law-and-order situation has deteriorated significantly.

He alleged that criminals are operating fearlessly and accused the government of misleading the public.

Yadav further claimed that economic inequality is widening, with the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer.

The RJD leader also targeted the state government over alleged corruption and administrative irregularities.

Referring to controversies such as the Rishu Shree case, he alleged that attempts were being made to shield senior officials and divert public attention by focusing on issues like government bungalows, security arrangements, and symbolic political controversies.

Tejashwi further alleged that youths protesting for employment and rights are being met with police action, including lathi-charges.

He also questioned the status of promises allegedly made to women regarding financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh.

In a direct political challenge, Tejashwi Yadav called upon Samrat Choudhary for a public debate, asserting that political leadership should be judged on concrete development work rather than rhetoric.

He said the public is closely observing the functioning of the government.

Speaking on Lalu Prasad Yadav’s birthday, Tejashwi Yadav described his father as a messiah of the poor and a symbol of social justice, stating that his political journey continues to inspire party workers and supporters.

He also responded sharply to remarks made by senior JD(U) leader Vijendra Yadav regarding his educational qualifications.

Yadav stated that he has never hidden his academic background and countered by questioning the educational credentials of NDA leaders, including those of the Prime Minister.

In a sarcastic remark aimed at Bihar’s political establishment, he also referred to Nishant Kumar, expressing confidence that the Education Minister would eventually make him an engineer too, similar to how a minister became a professor.
