Chennai, Aug 7 (IANS) Actress Rukmini Vasanth on Friday recalled her graduation from London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) 10 years ago and penned a heartfelt note of gratitude in which she thanked all those with whom she had worked and all those who were cheering her in this journey of hers.
Taking to her Instagram page to share pictures of a reunion she attended, the actress wrote, “Ten years ago, I graduated from RADA. And last week, I was able to celebrate our reunion with so many of the wonderful people who set off on this journey with me.”
She went on to say, “This milestone brought me so much joy and it also reminded me of the girl I was 10 years ago. She made a “risky” choice that set off so many dominoes and kickstarted the journey that brought me here, to this life that I’m so grateful to live. I feel such gratitude to that girl, who was scared and didn’t even dream of this life but was brave enough to hope and take life one step at a time.”
Rukmini ended the note saying, “I feel such gratitude also to all the people I have had the privilege of working with in all these years, and to all of you who are cheering me on and accompanying me on this journey. Here’s to the next 10.”
Rukmini Vasanth, whose work in Kantara: Chapter 1 came in for much critical acclaim, will next be seen in a pivotal role in director Geethu Mohandas’s eagerly awaited action entertainer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’.
For the unaware, the actress plays a character called Mellisa in the film. The makers had only recently released her character from the film.
Introduced as mystic, stylish, and elegant, Mellisa’s striking reveal sparked enthusiastic reactions across social media.
Actor Yash, who plays the lead in the film, had taken to his X timeline to officially announce the reveal, writing, “Introducing Rukmini Vasanth as MELLISA in – A Toxic Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups.” Responding to the post, Rukmini had expressed her excitement and gratitude, calling the experience a long-cherished dream and acknowledging the creative journey behind the film.
She wrote, “An absolute dream to be part of #Toxic. Grateful for this journey and the vision behind it.”
Following the reveal, director Geetu Mohandas too had shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing her admiration for Rukmini as an artist and collaborator.
