
Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (IANS) The Odisha government on Friday cleared 14 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 2,780.10 crore, expected to generate 14,104 jobs, marking a significant step towards advancing the vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036.
The projects were approved in the 149th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg.
“The approved projects cover a diverse range of sectors, including Food Processing, Agro & Food Processing, Textiles & Apparel, Chemicals & Chemical Products, Medical Devices, Pharma, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Steel, Iron & Ferro Alloys, Steel Downstream Manufacturing and Infrastructure,” the state government said in an official statement.
The government added that these projects will come up in Anugola, Balangir, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kenduhar, Khordha, Nayagada, Nuapada and Sundargada, expanding industrial activity across different parts of the state.
Among the major proposals approved was a Rs 500 crore project to set up a snacks and baked products manufacturing facility in Khordha/Cuttack, creating 800 jobs. In the Textiles & Apparel sector, a readymade garment manufacturing unit for knitted baby and kids wear will be established in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 251.45 crore, generating 5,104 jobs.
The Chemicals & Chemical Products sector received three proposals, including a Rs 450 crore phosphorus-based derivatives manufacturing plant in Ganjam, expected to create 458 jobs.
In the ESDM sector, a Rs 300 crore facility for printed circuit board assemblies and box build will be set up in Khordha, generating 500 jobs. Several other proposals across diverse sectors were also cleared in the meeting.
“The latest approvals reaffirm the State Government’s focus on attracting investments, supporting industrial development, promoting value addition and creating employment opportunities across Odisha, in line with the vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036,” the government asserted.
