Shimla, July 8 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajeev Bindal on Wednesday slammed Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, stating that neither he nor the Bharatiya Janata Party “requires any certificate from the Congress leader”.
Bindal said he has been continuously serving the people of the state as an elected public representative for the past 35 years, and the trust reposed in him by the people “is the only certificate he needs”.
He said the Congress party and Vikramaditya Singh have already received a fitting response from the people in the recent Panchayati Raj, Urban Local Body and Municipal Corporation elections.
According to Bindal, the repeated electoral setbacks suffered by Congress have left its leaders frustrated, and this frustration is now being reflected in their irresponsible statements.
He asserted that such rhetoric cannot divert public attention from the failures of the state government.
Bindal accused the Congress government of causing immense hardship to the people of Himachal Pradesh over the past four years. He said the biggest betrayal has been of the state’s unemployed youth. Before the elections, Congress had promised to provide five lakh employment opportunities and one lakh government jobs. However, despite being in power, the government has failed to fulfil even these basic commitments.
He said the youth of Himachal Pradesh are demanding answers, while the government is trying to change the narrative instead of addressing its failures.
On the Ram Temple issue, Bindal said the entire country is aware of the Congress’ historical stand. He said the construction of the Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram became possible only after centuries of struggle and the sacrifices of thousands of devotees.
He said Congress, from top to bottom, consistently attempted to obstruct the construction of the temple for the sake of appeasement politics. Today, he said, the same party is attempting to portray itself as a supporter of Lord Ram, which the people of the country clearly understand.
Bindal said in a statement that instead of making baseless political remarks, the Congress government should answer for its unfulfilled promises, growing unemployment, and failures in governance.
He said the BJP would continue to raise issues concerning the people and hold the Congress government accountable for every promise it made and every commitment it failed to honour.
