Nashik man attacks wife and 7-year-old son, attempts to kill self by consuming poison

Mumbai, July 19 (IANS) In a heart-wrenching incident, a man in Maharashtra’s Nashik district brutally assaulted his wife and seven-year-old son on Monday, before attempting to kill himself. The motive behind the deadly attack is unclear, though repeated altercations and squabbles over marital life are believed to be the key reason.

The police, after getting information about the ghastly crime, reached the spot only to find the wife and son in a deeply wounded state. The police rushed them to the hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The injured woman, identified as Ashwini Hazare, and her son were first admitted to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the government hospital.

The police found in its initial investigation that the accused pounced upon his wife and son with a sharp-edged object. The man, identified as Kiran Hazare, attacked his wife on the back side of her head while he hit his seven-year-old son on his neck.

According to available information, the duo Ashwin and Kiran got married in 2017. This was the second marriage for both of them. Kiran Hazare was engaged in supplying oxygen to hospitals and also ran a business installing solar panels.

In another heart-wrenching incident in Nashik, a chilling case of obsession turned into murder surfaced yesterday.

A man named Sahil Lavhare killed his former girlfriend Vaishnavi by stabbing her to death and also called up her fiancé about the act.

The incident took place on Friday night. Lavhare and Vaishnavi met near Vansampada Garden in Nashik’s Indiranagar area. An argument broke out between them, which continued for around 30 minutes. In a fit of rage, he then repeatedly stabbed the woman, who died on the spot.

Hours later, the accused’s body was found hanging from a tree just two kilometres from the crime scene.

Sahil died by suicide after allegedly murdering Vaishnavi.
