Jalgaon: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse has called for turning the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ campaign into a people’s movement across Jalgaon, stressing the need for collective action by spiritual institutions, social organisations, administration and youth.
Addressing a meeting of representatives from spiritual and religious institutions, public representatives, officials and voluntary organisations through video conference on Sunday, Khadse said the message of de-addiction from Kashi should reach every village in Jalgaon.
“The energy of our youth should be used not in addiction, but in nation-building,” she said, urging stakeholders to work together to create a healthy and addiction-free generation that can contribute to a developed India.
The meeting, held at the District Planning Bhavan in the Collectorate, discussed ways to expand awareness activities across the district. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Janardan Hari Ji Maharaj and representatives of spiritual institutions, saints, social organisations and voluntary bodies also participated.
Khadse emphasised that spiritual leaders can play a key role in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of addiction and promoting self-discipline, positive thinking and healthy lifestyles among young people.
Swami Janardan Hari Ji Maharaj said families, society and spiritual institutions have an important role in shaping the character of youth. He assured that spiritual institutions would actively support the awareness campaign.
Participants also stressed that awareness alone would not be sufficient and called for greater opportunities for youth in sports, education, skill development, employment, volunteering and nation-building activities.
Minister Sanjay Savkare and MLA Raju Bhole also urged citizens to participate actively in the campaign and ensure that its message reaches families and young people across Jalgaon district.
The meeting resolved to coordinate the efforts of MY Bharat, NSS, youth clubs, educational institutions, sports organisations, spiritual institutions, NGOs and the district administration to make Jalgaon a model for the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ campaign.
