New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Sunday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, describing it as a major public outreach initiative that highlights positive efforts across the country while inspiring citizens through stories of voluntary public participation.
He also said the Prime Minister’s message on the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign was significant for climate and water conservation.
Speaking after the 135th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Nabin said, “The Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat is a major public outreach programme. It provides a platform for the positive initiatives taking place across different parts of the country, allowing people in India and around the world to learn about the many voluntary efforts being undertaken by citizens. These initiatives inspire society in meaningful ways.”
“Today, the Prime Minister gave the message of ‘Catch the Rain’, which, in my view, is a significant message for climate conservation and, more importantly, water conservation. I believe that the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat always brings new information, fresh enthusiasm, and renewed inspiration to all of us,” he added.
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva said the programme continues to educate and inspire people with diverse information and practical messages.
He said, “Every time we listen to Mann Ki Baat, we learn something new. I don’t think there can be a better programme for sharing knowledge anywhere in the world than the one started by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Even today, we see the wide range of information he shared. Towards the end of Mann Ki Baat, he spoke about the Catch the Rain campaign and emphasised that saving every drop of rain should be our collective resolve during the upcoming monsoon…”
During the 135th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Narendra Modi underlined the importance of people’s participation in nation-building, and said the response to his earlier appeals during the global energy crisis demonstrated the strength of collective public action.
The Prime Minister said that during the global energy crisis, people responded positively to his appeals to conserve fuel, avoid unnecessary foreign travel and reduce gold purchases, reflecting the power of ‘janbhagidari’ (people’s participation) in India.
Speaking during the programme, PM Modi said, “When a nation’s soul resides in its people and when the people of that country make a resolve, no power can deter them from their goals. The power of ‘janbhagidari’ in the nation-building is a tremendous asset for India. We experience this janbhagidari time and time again.”
He further said, “In view of the war-like situation in West Asia, I had made a few appeals to my countrymen. I had urged them to avoid buying gold for some time. I had urged people to avoid foreign travel for vacations. I had also appealed to them to encourage car-pooling. I had urged the farmers to adopt a chemical-free farming to protect their farms and ensure extensive use of organic fertilisers.”
