Kumaraswamy Accuses Priyank Kharge of Links to ‘Sting’ Operation Conspirators

Bengaluru: Union minister H D Kumaraswamy has launched a fresh attack on Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge, accusing him of being associated with those allegedly behind a controversial sting operation. In a series of posts on X, Kumaraswamy also raised questions over the KPSC controversy and developments within the ruling Congress.

Targeting Kharge’s role as state home minister, Kumaraswamy accused him of repeatedly seeking political confrontation, first with the RSS, then over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and now with him.

He also alleged that Kharge was seeking publicity and said he would expose alleged irregularities linked to the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) controversy.

On the sting operation, Kumaraswamy questioned whether those allegedly involved in planning it were receiving protection from influential individuals. He accused Kharge of siding with a person under scrutiny but did not provide documentary evidence to substantiate the allegation.

Kumaraswamy also referred to Kharge’s meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, claiming that the minister had faced displeasure during the interaction. He further alluded to internal differences within the Congress over the chief minister’s post.

Defending his participation in the Akka conference, Kumaraswamy said he had attended the event to promote the Kannada language and not for entertainment. He also criticised Kharge for allegedly making remarks that disrespected Kannada.
