London (United Kingdom): The Lambeth Basaveshwara Foundation has extended a warm welcome to Periyasamy Kumaran on his appointment as India’s new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Speaking on the occasion, Foundation Chairman and former Mayor of London Neeraj Patil highlighted Kumaran’s strong connection with Karnataka, recalling his tenure as Regional Passport Officer in Bengaluru between 2005 and 2007.
He expressed confidence that Kumaran’s administrative experience and familiarity with the region would further strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties between India and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, outgoing High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswamy was fondly remembered for his contributions, particularly his association with Basaveshwara and participation in events held on April 30, 2025.
The Foundation also appreciated the rapport he built with the British Hindu community and wished him success in his next diplomatic assignment as India’s High Commissioner to China.
