New Delhi, July 29 (IANS) A team of Police Station New Usmanpur successfully solved a blind murder case within seven hours by apprehending two Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs), Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
During the investigation, police recovered the weapon used in the crime, a knife, along with the clothes allegedly worn by the accused at the time of the incident.
According to police, information was received at PS New Usmanpur at around 11:30 a.m. on July 28 regarding the body of a young male lying in a pit inside a DDA park near JPC Hospital.
A police team immediately rushed to the spot and found the body of an unidentified male, approximately 18 years old, bearing multiple stab injuries. A blood-stained knife was also found near the body.
The body was shifted to JPC Hospital for preservation and further legal formalities.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team inspected the crime scene and collected crucial forensic evidence. Subsequently, FIR No. 514/26 under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at PS New Usmanpur, and an investigation was initiated.
To crack the case swiftly, multiple teams were constituted under the leadership of Inspector K.L. Yadav, SHO, PS New Usmanpur. The teams included Inspectors Deepak Kumar and Manoj Kumar, SI Sumit, Head Constables Amit, Sandeep, Sachin, Amit Kumar, Yogesh and Dinesh, along with Women Constables Seema, Shalini, and Swati. The investigation was supervised by ACP Seelampur Malkiyat Singh.
The teams conducted extensive technical surveillance, analysed CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, and developed vital leads. Through sustained efforts and technical analysis, the deceased was identified as Saad alias Nami (16), son of Late Shammi and a resident of Behta Hajipur, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Further investigation led to the identification and apprehension of two juveniles, aged between 16 and 17 years, both residents of Behta Hajipur in Loni, Ghaziabad.
During sustained questioning, the two CCLs allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. They told investigators that they worked in a factory and were frequently bullied and harassed by the deceased. On July 27, they allegedly lured him to the DDA park on the pretext of purchasing slippers. During a conversation, an altercation broke out, following which they allegedly stabbed him with a knife and fled the scene.
Police recovered the knife used in the commission of the offence and the clothes allegedly worn by the juveniles during the crime. Further investigation in the case is underway.
