
Chennai, July 4 (IANS) Chennai District Collector S. Malathi Helen on Saturday convened a consultative meeting with e-Sevai centre operators on July 7 to address recurring issues that have led to the rejection and delay of applications for government and revenue-related services.
The meeting, scheduled to be held at the conference hall of the Chennai Collectorate, aims to improve the quality of applications submitted through e-Sevai centres and ensure faster delivery of citizen services.
Operators from e-Sevai centres across the district are expected to participate in the consultation.
According to a communication issued by the Collector, revenue authorities have repeatedly noticed that applications are being submitted with incorrectly scanned, incomplete or inappropriate supporting documents.
Such errors have resulted in delays in processing applications and, in many cases, their rejection by revenue officials.
The district administration said the meeting has been organised to sensitise e-Sevai operators about the correct procedures for scanning and uploading documents while submitting applications on behalf of the public.
Officials will also emphasise the importance of verifying all supporting records before they are uploaded to the government portal.
The Collectorate noted that many of the deficiencies identified during scrutiny could be avoided if operators ensure that the required documents are properly scanned, legible and relevant to the service being sought.
Accurate documentation at the time of submission is expected to reduce the number of applications returned by officials and speed up the processing of requests.
Revenue officials are also expected to explain the documentation requirements for various government and revenue-related services and highlight common mistakes found in recent applications.
The interaction will provide e-Sevai operators with an opportunity to seek clarifications on procedural issues and better understand the standards expected during online submissions.
The district administration said strengthening coordination between e-Sevai centres and revenue officials is essential for improving the efficiency of public service delivery.
By enhancing awareness among operators and reinforcing compliance with prescribed procedures, the Collectorate hopes to minimise human errors, reduce application rejections and ensure that citizens receive government services without unnecessary delays caused by documentation-related issues.
