Howrah: The West Bengal Cabinet has decided to provide a permanent Group D government job to one member of each family affected by a tragic incident during Durga Puja celebrations, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said.
Announcing the decision, Adhikari said the Cabinet had also approved an amendment to the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment rules to bar teachers recruited in the future from directly participating in politics.
He clarified that the proposed restriction would apply only to future recruits and would not affect teachers already involved in politics.
