Bankipur bypoll: BJP candidate Abhishek Kumar Sinha to file nomination today

Patna, July 9 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its campaign for the Bankipur Assembly by-election, with its candidate Abhishek Kumar Sinha alias Bunty set to file his nomination papers on Thursday.

Several senior BJP and NDA leaders are expected to participate in the nomination programme, highlighting the party’s focus on retaining the prestigious seat.

Prominent BJP leaders, including the party’s national president Nitin Nabin and Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi, are scheduled to attend the event. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is also likely to participate.

The presence of senior leaders is being viewed as a show of organisational strength ahead of the by-election.

According to the programme, Abhishek Kumar, who serves as the State Vice-President of the BJP Yuva Morcha, will begin his day by paying floral tributes at the statue of his political mentor and former MLA Navin Kishore Sinha at Navin Sinha Park in Shastri Nagar.

Following that, he will offer prayers at Hanuman Temple, Rajvanshi Nagar, Akhandvasini Temple, Golghar Park, and Kali Temple, Bans Ghat. He is scheduled to reach the Patna Collectorate to submit his nomination papers.

After filing his nomination, Bunty will address an ‘Aashirwad Sabha’ at the Scout and Guide Complex on Buddha Marg.

He will then visit the Mahavir Temple near Patna Junction before launching his public outreach campaign at 3:00 p.m.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin has arrived in Patna on a two-day visit to Bihar and is scheduled to participate in Abhishek’s nomination programme.

The Bankipur constituency holds particular importance for the BJP, as Nitin Nabin represented the seat multiple times before becoming a Rajya Sabha member.

His elevation to the Upper House resulted in the vacancy that necessitated the current by-election.

The Bankipur by-election has emerged as one of Bihar’s closely watched political contests.

The BJP’s decision to mobilise senior leaders for Abhishek Kumar’s nomination reflects the strategic importance of the constituency.
