Amitabh Bachchan asks Sunny Deol why it took him 18 years to come on ‘KBC’

Mumbai, Aug 10 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, in a light-hearted exchange with Bollywood star Sunny Deol over the latter’s much-awaited appearance on the quiz-based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, asked the actor why he took 18 seasons to finally come on the show.

A promo was shared by the channel on Instagram with the caption: “Computer ji, lock this fun conversation and legendary moment!”

In the promo, Amitabh was seen asking Sunny: “Sunny, I want to ask you something. This is the 18th season. What were you doing for so long? Why didn’t you join us?”

To which Sunny said: “I was very scared of the show. I had to think.”

Bollywood star Aamir Khan replied: “Sir, I have been here 6-7 times.”

To which Sunny said: “He doesn’t think, I do.”

Aamir and Sunny will be seen on the show promoting their upcoming film “Batwara 1947”. With Sunny in the lead, the drama also features Shabana Azmi, Preity G Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles, along with others.

If the recently released trailer of the movie is any hint, it will revolve around a family whose lives are turned upside down amidst violence, fear, and forced migration.

The project also marks Preity Zinta’s return to the screen after an eight-year gap.

‘Batwara 1947’ is believed to be a cinematic adaptation of Asghar Wajahat’s drama ‘Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai ‘. The Punjabi title translates to “Visiting Lahore is so fundamental that if you do not come here, it is as if you have not even been born.”

Kaun Banega Crorepati is the official Hindi adaptation of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise. It is presented by actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has hosted the show for its entire run except for its third season, during which Shah Rukh Khan, another actor, replaced Big B.

The format is similar to other shows in the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise, where contestants are asked multiple-choice questions and must select the correct answer from four possible choices, and are provided with lifelines that may be used if they are uncertain.

The first episode KBC is set to premiere on August 10 on Sony Entertainment Television.
