Hyderabad, Sep 10 (IANS) Former Lok Sabha MP from Telangana, Madhu Goud Yaskhi, said on Thursday that he views his appointment as the Chairman of All India Professionals’ Congress (AIPC) as a big responsibility to fulfil the vision of Rahul Gandhi in making AIPC the bridge that connects India’s professionals to politics, policymaking, and nation-building.
He took to social media to convey ‘sincere gratitude’ to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for entrusting him with the responsibility of Chairman, All India Professionals’ Congress.
“I see this not as a position, but as a big responsibility; to fulfil the vision of Rahul Gandhi in making AIPC the bridge that connects India’s professionals to politics, policymaking, and nation-building,” he said in a post on X.
Earlier, while thanking Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud for congratulating him on his appointment, Madhu Goud Yaskhi said he wishes to work together to strengthen the Congress Party and make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.
“Thank you, Mahesh Goud Garu. With the love, support, and cooperation of all of you, I sincerely wish to work together to strengthen the Congress Party from the state level to the national level and to make Shri Rahul Gandhi Garu the Prime Minister of India,” Yaskhi said.
“Let us all be united and work together towards this goal,” he added.
Meanwhile, Yaskhi met Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar in the Assembly on Thursday.
In the context of the recent developments at the Assembly and the inappropriate remarks made against the Speaker, Yaskhi conveyed his solidarity to Prasad Kumar.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday congratulated Yaskhi on being appointed as Chairperson of the All India Professionals’ Congress.
“A well-deserved recognition of his long years of service and his ability to connect with people across walks of life. His experience will help the party deepen its engagement with India’s professional community and bring their expertise into nation-building. Wishing him every success,” posted the Chief Minister on X.
Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday appointed Yaskhi, who succeeds Praveen Chakravarty.
A former MP, Madhu Goud Yaskhi has decades of experience and is known for close rapport with the party’s high command.
One of the key leaders from Backward Castes, he is also known for his civil and soft demeanour.
A strong supporter of a separate Telangana State, Yaskhi was elected twice to the Lok Sabha from Nizamabad.
