The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced recruitment for more than 1,300 Medical Officer posts through the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2026. Eligible candidates with an MBBS degree and aged below 32 years can apply online at upsconline.nic.in by March 31.
- General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO – General Duty): 864 posts
- Assistant Divisional Medical Officer: 450 posts
- GDMO Grade-II, Municipal Corporation of Delhi: 30 posts
- Medical Officer, New Delhi Municipal Council: 14 posts.
The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by an interview. The notification is seen as a significant opportunity for medical graduates seeking careers in the Central Government health services.
Eligibility
- Candidates must possess an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC/MCI).
- The upper age limit is 32 years as of August 1, 2026 (i.e., candidates should not be born before August 2, 1994).
- Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government rules for reserved categories.
