Tamarind Juice | Healthy & Refreshing

Tamarind juice is one of the healthy beverage. It is famous drink in Africa & Jamaica. Tamarind juice is very traditional recipe and easy too. It is sweet and sour in taste. Tamarind juice is just a twist of tropical juice. This drink is definitely a best drink in hot summer.

 

Tamarind is a long pod with hard broken shell and black seeds. This fruit is having sour taste and little sweetish.  The tamarind broke the shell, remove seeds and make pulp or add salt store a year. Later we can use any time for cuisine or juice.

India is one of the biggest producers of tamarind. South Indians when get one tamarind pod definitely they break the shell and eat by just dipping in salt. Obviously a mouth watering while eating it. Tamarind is a key ingredient in an Indian kitchen.

First soak the tamarind in normal water or hot water. Using of hot water helps to squeeze easily. Once squeezed sieve it to get tamarind pulp. Once you get tamarind pulp dilute with water. The powdered sugar added for sweetness. Instead of sugar you can add jaggery or honey. But sugar gives best taste for this juice. Finally add Mint leaves and ice cubes to it and enjoy the wonderful drink.

Tamarind is very healthy to our body. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The extract maintains low blood sugar and loss body weight. It also helps to rejuvenate the skin. Tamarind gives more vitamin C.  It also helps in digestive system, constipation, problem of dry eyes.
