Sonu Nigam resumes his fitness journey with yoga after surgery

Mumbai, Aug 23 (IANS) Renowned singer Sonu Nigam resumed his fitness journey with yoga after undergoing surgery earlier this month.

In his latest social media post on Sunday, Sonu Nigam was seen spending the weekend indulging in yoga.

Opting for a T-shirt and shorts as his athleisure, the singer performed some stretches in the video that was simply captioned, “Sunday! (sic)”, along with a bicep emoji.

The comment section of the post saw supportive remarks such as, “Welldone…keep it up , stay strong stay feet…and happi”, “Our superman is getting fitter day by day”, and “Yoga se hoga”.

Before this, Sonu Nigam gave an impromptu performance for his doctor and other medical staff while on the surgery table, powering through the pain like a true artist.

On August 9, the singer published a video of himself from the operation theatre on his official Insta handle.

Sonu Nigam sang Mohammed Rafi’s track “Suhani raat dhal chuki, na jaane tum kab aoge” from the 1949 drama ‘Dulari’.

He further added the caption, “An impromptu performance for dear @drnileshsatbhai and his loving team during my surgery. Singing in the pain.. the Joy of Music! (Folded hands emoji).”

In June, Sonu Nigam used social media to reveal that he had been dealing with a painful nerve-related condition and had also been undergoing treatment for the same. He further shared that he had undergone many MRIs and CT scans and had also been on medication for the last couple of days.

He said in the clip, “My nerves are pinched. I have been taking MRI and CT scans for a week. I have been taking a lot of medicines.”

Sonu Nigam also showed the netizens a patch placed near his neck, sharing that as he suffered from a pinched nerve his throat also feels heavy.

“Physiotherapy was very painful. I am taking painkillers now. Due to that, my throat is also a little heavy,” he added.
