Ahmedabad, July 28 (IANS) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on Tuesday evening for a two-day organisational visit, with the RSS stating that no public events have been planned during his stay.
According to an official statement issued by the RSS Gujarat Province, Bhagwat will arrive at Dr Hedgewar Bhavan, the provincial office of the organisation in Ahmedabad, on the evening of July 28.
On Wednesday morning, he is scheduled to deliver an address at a programme organised by Punarutthan Vidyapeeth, following which he will depart from the city.
The organisation described the visit as being exclusively for internal organisational activities and clarified that “Mohanji Bhagwat’s visit is organisational in nature. No public programme has been scheduled.”
Bhagwat, who has served as the RSS chief since 2009, makes periodic visits to Gujarat for organisational engagements and interactions with social, educational and religious institutions.
Earlier this year, he visited the state on March 4 and 5, when he travelled to Ahmedabad before visiting the Swaminarayan temples at Vadtal and Jetalpur, where he attended religious programmes and met seers.
He also visited Gujarat in October 2025, during which he attended programmes in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, including a meeting with Jain spiritual leader Acharya Mahashraman.
During that visit, Bhagwat said he came to Gujarat every year to “charge my batteries” while referring to his interactions with the spiritual leader.
Four days ago, Bhagwat also addressed a national gathering in New Delhi, where he stressed the importance of dialogue with young people, saying they should be guided through discussion and understanding rather than commands.
The RSS has not announced any additional engagements for Bhagwat during the current visit beyond the scheduled address at Punarutthan Vidyapeeth, reiterating that the programme is intended for organisational purposes rather than public participation.
