New Delhi, Sep 14 (IANS) Delhi Toofans have announced the appointment of Fabio Menta, an internationally experienced coach, as their head coach as they prepare for the fifth season of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL).
The appointment occurs at a pivotal moment for the franchise, after the recent Season 5 player auction and before the league starts on November 30. With the PVL entering an important new stage after being recognised by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) as India’s top-tier professional volleyball league, the upcoming season is likely to enhance opportunities for Indian players to compete alongside international athletes.
Fabio has over twenty years of experience working with professional clubs, national teams, and international development programs in Europe, Asia, and Oceania. As an FIVB Level II coach and coach instructor linked with the IOC, FIVB, and Oceania Volleyball, he has been involved in indoor and beach volleyball. Additionally, he has served as a technical director, coach educator, and mentor to players and coaches worldwide.
His coaching highlights include winning a national championship in the Bahamas, earning a bronze medal at the Italian Cup, and securing a bronze at the Suomen Cup in Finland. Recently, Fabio Menta contributed to Creamline’s three-title sweep in the Philippine Pro League in 2025, then helped ZUS Coffee win a silver medal in 2026. He also served as a tactician for Letran College during its NCAA gold-medal victory. Additionally, he is the founder of The Science of Modern Volleyball, an educational platform dedicated to analysing contemporary volleyball techniques, trends, and coaching development.
Delhi Toofans have established a solid competitive footing in the PVL, reaching the final in their debut season in 2024. The franchise now seeks to turn this early achievement into consistent success as the league elevates in prominence and draws more interest from players, coaches, and fans.
