Palestinian teenager was killed after being shot in the head by Israeli soldiers

A tragic incident occurred in the West Bank village of Umm Safa, resulting in the death of a Palestinian teenager. Mohammad Al-Bayedd, a 17-year-old from Al-Jalazoon refugee camp near Ramallah, was killed after being shot in the head by Israeli soldiers during clashes, according to a press statement from the Ministry on Friday.

Two other Palestinians were also injured during the clashes, with one of them in serious condition, as reported by the Ministry.

According to Palestinian eyewitnesses, the clashes erupted when Israeli soldiers stormed the village and fired tear gas at dozens of Palestinians who were protesting. The use of tear gas led to suffocation among the protesters.

The Israel Defense Forces and Border Police stated that the clash occurred when Palestinians in Umm Safa began hurling stones and rocks at the Israeli forces. In response, a border police officer opened fire at the Palestinians, hitting at least one of them, as per the Xinhua news agency.

In another incident, during the weekly anti-settlement march in Kafr Qaddoum village near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, at least three Palestinians were shot and injured by rubber-coated metal bullets fired by Israeli soldiers, according to Murad Ishtawi, the coordinator of the popular resistance committee in the village.

These events add to the ongoing tensions and violence in the region and highlight the complexities and challenges of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The loss of a young life and the injuries sustained by others further underscore the urgency of finding a peaceful resolution to the long-standing issues in the area.
