BENGALURU, Aug 10: A long-pending civic issue in N.S. Palya was resolved within minutes on Saturday after Transport Minister and BTM MLA Ramalinga Reddy intervened personally.
For nearly five months, drainage and footpath repair work along 7th Main Road in Ward No. 181 had been left incomplete, with large open ditches posing a danger to pedestrians. Several residents had reportedly suffered injuries after tripping into the unfinished sections.
Despite repeated complaints to BBMP officials, no action was taken — until a local resident shared a photograph of the site with Reddy on WhatsApp. Within 10 minutes, the minister dispatched ward president Nagaraj to the location, where a JCB was brought in to secure the area and carry out temporary repairs.
Reddy also instructed party leaders and officials to conduct door-to-door visits in affected areas, check on residents’ safety, and ensure that ongoing development works are completed without endangering the public.
