Patna, Sep 4 (IANS) The Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) on Friday reiterated its resolve to make party chief Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister of Bihar, with senior leaders making the declaration at a meeting in Patna in the presence of Paswan.
LJP-RV National General Secretary and MLA Raju Tiwari and State party President Surendra Vivek made the announcement from an open platform during the meeting, signalling the party’s ambition to lead the state government.
Addressing the gathering, Raju Tiwari expressed confidence that the party organisation would continue to strengthen under Chirag Paswan’s leadership.
He said that party leaders had resolved to form an LJP (Ram Vilas) government in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and fulfil their pledge to make Paswan Chief Minister of the state.
“We have full confidence that we will progress day by day under the leadership of our leader, Chirag Paswan. For the upcoming Assembly elections, we will resolve to form our party’s government and fulfil the pledge of making Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister,” Tiwari added.
Several party leaders, including State President Surendra Vivek, were present at the meeting, which was attended by Chirag Paswan.
The declaration assumes significance in the context of Bihar’s political landscape, particularly the LJP (Ram Vilas)’s position within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The party’s public assertion of its claim to the Chief Minister’s post could fuel further political discussion over the alliance’s leadership and the party’s plans for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), under the leadership of Chirag Paswan, has performed strongly in recent Lok Sabha and Bihar Assembly elections.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the party contested five seats—Hajipur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Khagaria and Jamui—and won all five, registering a 100 per cent strike rate.
In the 2025 Bihar Assembly election, LJP (Ram Vilas) contested 29 seats and won 19, once again delivering an impressive performance.
The party is currently a constituent of the NDA governments at both the Centre and in Bihar.
