BENGALURU: The Karnataka government will upgrade its software system to expedite the disposal of long-pending Bagair Hukum land regularisation applications, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said in the Assembly.
Replying to Chikkamagaluru MLA H D Thammaiah, Parameshwara said the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, allows regularisation of unauthorised cultivation under Section 94.
Applications submitted in Forms 50-53 between September 26, 2023 and January 21, 2024 were accepted through the government website. Several applications are currently pending at different stages, he said.
Parameshwara said cases where land has already been sanctioned and cultivation certificates issued but the grant has not been reflected in revenue records are not being processed by the physical verification committee handling Forms 50-53.
As per Revenue Commissionerate directions, such cases must first be entered by Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) in the Proforma 1-5 software and subsequently transferred to the Proforma-1 system.
The cases will then be moved to the Bagair Hukum software for processing and final entry in revenue records, he said.
Details of beneficiaries whose land has already been sanctioned and recorded are available in the Proforma 1-5 system.
However, cases where land has been sanctioned under Bagair Hukum but revenue account entries and cultivation certificates remain pending have not yet been entered into the software.
The proposed software upgrade is aimed at streamlining the process and ensuring faster disposal of these long-pending land regularisation cases.
