Karnataka to Send 500 Powermen to Help Restore Cyclone-Hit Power Network in Andhra Pradesh

Bengaluru: Karnataka will deploy 500 skilled electricity workers along with equipment to help restore power supply in cyclone-hit Andhra Pradesh, following a request from the neighbouring state.

Karnataka has assured Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of full support after Cyclone Arnab uprooted more than 15,000 electricity poles, disrupting power infrastructure across affected areas.

The state’s Energy Department is coordinating the deployment, with Energy Minister K J George monitoring the arrangements. The teams will work alongside Andhra Pradesh officials to expedite repairs and restore electricity supply.

Karnataka will also monitor the situation over the next two days in view of the approaching Cyclone Murasu and assess whether further assistance is required.

The state government said it would extend all possible support to Andhra Pradesh in its restoration efforts.
