Journalist, Woman Behind Sting Operation, Claims Siddaramaiah; Says Truth Must Emerge

Mysuru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has alleged that a journalist and a woman were behind the sting operation against him, claiming that an attempt was made to blackmail him. He said the truth must be brought before the public.

Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said the alleged attempt would not succeed and dismissed the allegations as false.

“I served as Chief Minister for eight years, and no such attempt was made during that period. The allegations are false, which is why I have filed a complaint. I came to know about the sting operation only in September. I have done nothing wrong,” he said.

Siddaramaiah added that he did not need moral or any other support from anyone in the matter.

He also questioned the need to constitute a high-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the sting operation, while stressing that the facts should come to light so the public could know the truth.
