Bengaluru: Dr Deepak Shetty has been elected president of Bunts Sangha Bengaluru for the 2026–29 term following elections to the association’s new governing body and executive committee.
The election was held simultaneously at the Sangha premises and the Mulki Sundararam Shetty Memorial MSRS Nagar Trust Hall.
Madhukar M. Shetty and Soumyapriya Hegde have been elected vice-presidents, while Amarnath Shetty will serve as honorary secretary. Surekha Shetty has been elected joint secretary and Ramit B. Shetty treasurer.

The newly elected executive committee members are Anita P. Bhandari, Arun Kumar Shetty H., CA Chandrashekhar Shetty, Heera Anup Hegde, Keerthan Shetty, CA Kishore Shetty, Malathi J. Shetty, Nityaranjan Shetty, Prasad Kumar Shetty, Prashanth Shetty S., Pratap Shetty, Ramdas Shetty K.S., Shakunthala Shetty, Surendra Shetty H. and Umesh Poonja D.
Focus on growth, welfare and education
The new governing body said its priorities for the three-year term would include organisational development, member welfare and expansion of educational and social initiatives.
The team also plans to formulate programmes aimed at addressing members’ needs and strengthening activities benefiting students and future generations.
The newly elected office-bearers thanked members who participated in the election and sought their continued cooperation in implementing the association’s development initiatives during the 2026–29 term.
