Bhubaneswar: The Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, under the Ministry of MSME, has trained 8,083 engineering students from 22 states and Union Territories through its four-week Summer Internship Training Programme 2026.
Held during May and June, the industry-oriented programme also included 26 international students from Sudan and Yemen, providing participants with hands-on exposure aimed at improving technical skills and employability.
The programme covered 39 engineering and emerging technology domains, including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Computer Science, AI-ML, Cloud Computing, IoT and Additive Manufacturing.
Mechanical engineering recorded the highest participation with 3,193 students, followed by Electronics (2,209) and IT & Software (1,948).
Among individual courses, Artificial Intelligence attracted 1,748 students, followed by PLC Programming (1,000), AutoCAD (991), Python Programming (413) and Data Analytics (392).
Students from IITs, NITs, deemed universities, engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes participated in the programme.
CTTC Bhubaneswar provides tooling and technical training for MSMEs and offers programmes in areas including Tool & Die technology, CAD/CAM/CAE, CNC machining, mechatronics and product design.
The centre has also contributed to India’s space and defence programmes by manufacturing precision components for ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions, besides supplying components for aerospace and defence applications.
