Lucknow, Oct 26 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), alleging that both of them maintain a soft corner for the infiltrators but treat their own citizens with contempt and scorn.
Taking a caustic swipe at the SP-Congress, the Chief Minister said that there are two types of “Miyans” in the country – one is ‘Chhote Mian’ and the other is ‘Bade Mian’, a comment seen as directly attributed to Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi.
The Chief Minister, without taking names, said that both of them embraced Bangladeshi infiltrators but went on to insult Dalits, the deprived, the poor, farmers, and the youth.
“Akhilesh ji, why do you love Bangladeshi infiltrators so much?” he posed a direct question to the SP supremo.
In the same breath, the UP CM added that the BJP-led double-engine government was the only solution for those engaging in rioting, hooliganism and anarchic activity.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the crowd at the program organised in Kanpur for the inauguration and foundation stone-laying of 48 development projects costing more than ₹411 crore in the Bilhaur and Bithoor Assembly constituencies.
Digging out the ‘past misdeeds’ of previous governments, the UP CM stated that both Congress and SP ruled the state for longer periods, but they only brought despair to people and a lawless situation where goons used to run riot.
The Chief Minister said that during Congress and SP regimes, the farmers were forced to live in penury, often driven to suicide and the youth remained deprived of employment opportunities.
Equating the SP regime with a ‘reign of terror’, he said that their government itself posed a threat to the safety of women.
“Their goons grabbed the land of farmers, and at the same time, the mafias were felicitated at the Chief Minister’s residence,” CM Yogi claimed.
Accusing the SP regime of weakening Guru Ravidas’ legacy, the Chief Minister stated, “In the year 2012, when the Samajwadi Party government was formed, they removed the name of ‘Sant Guru Ravidas Ji’ from Bhadohi in the first cabinet. Today, the name of Bhadohi has again been changed to ‘Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi’.
