Bengaluru: Alliance PU College observed Constitution Day with a series of activities designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the nation’s constitutional ethos — justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. The event aimed at enhancing awareness about citizens’ rights and duties while encouraging a deeper commitment to democratic principles.
Students presented an insightful session on the historical background of Constitution Day and its relevance in contemporary times, drawing attention to the evolution of India’s constitutional framework.

Alliance University faculty members Dr. Sumanth Kumar and Dr. Showkat Ahmed Wani addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of constitutional values, citizens’ responsibilities and the crucial role of youth in safeguarding democratic institutions.
A thematic video outlining the making of the Constitution and its journey over the decades was screened for the students. This was followed by a collective reading of the Preamble, along with the Preamble Oath, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution.
To promote civic awareness through experiential learning, the college organized a mock election, allowing students to engage firsthand with the voting process. Additionally, students delivered an awareness talk on the idea of the “vote bank,” explaining electoral dynamics and emphasising the importance of ethical voting.
