AICC appoints six national coordinators to strengthen All India Adivasi Congress

New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday announced the appointment of six National Coordinators for the All India Adivasi Congress, signalling a fresh push to empower and organise tribal communities nationwide.

The decision, approved by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, comes on the same day as state-level appointments, indicating a comprehensive reorganisation of the party’s tribal outreach wing.

In an official press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the following leaders have been appointed as National Coordinators with immediate effect — Ritu Meena, Narayan Singh Patta, Panchilal Meda, R.A. Inqalavi, Sajjad Tariq and Yogesh Kumar Meena.

The appointments are expected to provide stronger central leadership to the All India Adivasi Congress, enabling better coordination between national policies and state-level implementation.

The All India Adivasi Congress functions as the dedicated tribal wing of the Indian National Congress, focusing on safeguarding the rights and interests of Scheduled Tribes across India.

The National Coordinators will play a crucial role in formulating strategies for tribal welfare, monitoring the implementation of government schemes, and addressing issues such as forest rights, land acquisition, education and healthcare access for Adivasi communities.

Their mandate also includes expanding party membership among tribal communities and preparing the organisation for upcoming political campaigns.

Sources within the Congress party described the appointees as a mix of experienced leaders and dedicated workers with strong roots in tribal areas.

The inclusion of both male and female leaders reflects the party’s commitment to gender inclusivity in tribal politics. Ritu Meena and Yogesh Kumar Meena, in particular, are expected to strengthen outreach in Rajasthan and other regions with significant Meena tribal populations.

The appointments assume added significance as the party seeks to strengthen its organisational presence among tribal communities and reinforce its outreach on issues concerning tribal rights.
