Abhishek Banerjee steps down as a casting director, to focus on acting

Mumbai, Aug 24 (IANS) In a major career move, Abhishek Banerjee has decided to step away from Casting Bay, the casting company he co-founded with Anmol Ahuja back in 2017.

On Monday, the ‘Stree’ actor took to his official Instagram handle and posted an emotional note communicating his decision to focus on acting.

The official note shared by him on his account read, “Sometimes moving forward doesn’t mean leaving something behind (sic).”

“Casting Bay was created by two friends with a shared vision and love for the craft. Over time, as life and professional journeys evolved, their paths naturally took different directions. Abhishek has now retired from Casting Bay and continues with his acting career and other professional pursuits,” they added, explaining why Abhishek decided to remove himself from Casting Bay.

The co-founder Anmol Ahuja will continue to lead Casting Bay just like before.

“Abhishek and Anmol remain proud of what they created together, grateful for the journey they shared, and wish each other nothing but the very best for the road ahead. It simply means being grateful for the road you travelled together and excited about the roads that now lie ahead,” the note concluded.

Reacting to Abhishek’s professional update, his ‘Stree’ co-star Aparshakti Khurana commented, “Bestest Wishes to both of you in all your future endeavours…thanks for creating a beautiful community of artists and showing them the right path…big hug!”

Avinash Tiwary wrote, “Love Always”, along with three red heart emojis.

Kritika Kamra added, “What a great run! More power to you both”.

Talking about Abhishek’s exciting film lineup, he will soon be seen in ‘Mirzapur- The Movie’ and ‘Lust Stories 3’.

He is also all set to make his Tamil debut opposite R. Madhavan.

In addition to this, Abhishek has been roped in to play an antagonist opposite Tiger Shroff in his next.
