Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has estimated preliminary damage of ₹4,526 crore from Cyclone Arnab, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told a central assessment team on Tuesday, urging it to expedite its recommendations to facilitate compensation.
Naidu met the team, which arrived in the state to assess the cyclone’s impact, and said the government had already submitted a preliminary damage report to the Centre. He thanked the team for its prompt visit.
The chief minister said the use of real-time governance and the integration of various technologies had helped the administration significantly reduce casualties during the cyclone.

He pointed out that the state was yet to fully address the damage caused by Arnab when Cyclone Murasu struck, creating fresh challenges for the administration.
Around 7,000 personnel are working on a war footing to restore electricity supply, Naidu said. He urged the central team to complete its assessment and submit recommendations at the earliest to help the state secure assistance for the losses.
