Rajasthan Cabinet approves proposal to felicitate PM Modi

Jaipur, Oct 14 (IANS) The Rajasthan Cabinet has approved a proposal to felicitate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of his 25 years in public office.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced this while addressing the media after the Cabinet meeting, saying Rajasthan would play a key role in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).

Sharma highlighted several major achievements under the Modi government, including the consecration of the Ram Mandir and progress on long-pending inter-state water agreements.

He said the spirit of cooperative federalism had helped advance the Yamuna Water Agreement, the Narmada Water Agreement and the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).

He also highlighted the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹35 lakh crore during the Global Rajasthan Summit and the inauguration of the Pachpadra Refinery by the Prime Minister.

According to the Chief Minister, greenfield expressways spanning more than 27,750 kilometres are being developed, while Rajasthan’s solar power capacity has increased by 28 gigawatts during the state government’s tenure.

He said the state had benefited significantly from the Prime Minister’s leadership and guidance. Sharma said around 30 crore saplings had been planted in Rajasthan under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

Emphasising the importance of youth in nation-building, he said recruitment processes for one lakh posts were currently underway.

The Chief Minister claimed that more than 410 examinations had been conducted without paper leaks. He added that the government was working to ensure daytime electricity supply to farmers across 26 districts.

Sharma said Rajasthan was implementing the concept of ‘One State, One Election’ in line with the Prime Minister’s vision. Panchayati Raj elections are being conducted simultaneously, he said, adding that elections held at different times had previously disrupted development activities.

The Chief Minister said information about public welfare schemes was being disseminated in rural areas through ‘Seva Sankalp Raths’, dedicated to marking the Prime Minister’s 25-year journey in public service. The initiative aims to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible family.

Sharma said the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ could be realised only by strengthening basic amenities in villages and making the rural economy self-reliant.

He said the Centre and the state government, working together under the ‘double-engine government’ framework, were advancing development initiatives in rural areas.

The state government is focusing on preparing development plans tailored to the needs of individual villages and ensuring that their benefits reach the last person in society.

Under the ‘Viksit Gaon, Viksit Bharat Abhiyan’, suggestions were collected from farmers, livestock rearers, women and senior citizens through Gram Sabhas and community meetings.

Based on these consultations, a ‘Village Development Pledge Document’ was prepared, reflecting villagers’ aspirations and their commitment to collective development.
