Jaipur, Sep 15 (IANS) Abrar Khan Mev (58), the newly-elected Independent Councillor from Ward No. 7 of Marwar Junction Municipality, died after his health suddenly deteriorated on Tuesday.
He was taken to the Trauma Centre in Pali for treatment, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
His sudden demise has triggered a wave of grief across Marwar Junction.
Abrar Khan Mev, an Independent Councillor from Ward No. 7, was at home on Tuesday morning, where people had gathered to congratulate him on his victory.
At around 8 a.m., while having tea, he suddenly complained of chest pain, following which his health began to deteriorate.
His family immediately took him to the Government Hospital in Marwar Junction, where doctors provided first aid. As his condition was considered critical, doctors referred him to Pali for further treatment.
His family and others subsequently took him to the Trauma centre in Pali. However, despite efforts to save him, doctors declared him dead after examination, approximately at 9 a.m.
There are 25 wards in the Marwar Junction Municipality. According to the results announced on Monday, the BJP and the Congress each won 11 wards, while Independent candidates secured three seats.
With both the BJP and Congress falling short of a majority, the support of Independent Councillors is crucial for forming the municipal board.
Following the death of Abrar Khan Mev, the arithmetic surrounding the formation of the board has now changed.
The news of his sudden death has come as a shock to his family and to those who had celebrated his election victory.
Following the news of Abrar Khan Mev’s death, a pall of gloom descended over Marwar Junction. Supporters, acquaintances and local residents began arriving at his home to offer their condolences to the bereaved family.
Family members at the Pali Trauma Center were inconsolable following the sudden tragedy. Local residents and public representatives expressed grief over his untimely death and prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family.
