‘Two faces, one message?’: B.K.Hariprasad targets RSS over Bhagwat’s US remarks

Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president B.K. Hariprasad has questioned the RSS leadership over what he termed a contrast between its messaging abroad and its politics in India.

Reacting to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks in New York that diversity is the “decoration of our inner unity” and must be protected, Hariprasad said the same principle should be followed in India as well.

‘Unity in New York, division in India?’

Hariprasad alleged that the RSS and various organisations associated with the Sangh Parivar have for decades encouraged communal polarisation, which, he claimed, has weakened India’s pluralistic and diverse social fabric.

“When we talk about protecting diversity abroad, a question naturally arises. Why can’t the same principle be followed in India? Talk of unity in New York, politics of division in India — how is this possible?” he asked.

Hariprasad said the words and actions of RSS leaders are being closely watched in India.

He also urged Bhagwat to put his message of unity and protection of diversity into practice in India, rather than limiting it to speeches on international platforms.
