Bhopal: A Bengaluru police inspector attached to the cybercrime team was among four people killed in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district on Friday morning. The team was travelling to the state as part of an investigation into a cybercrime case.
The accident occurred near Biaora when a bus travelling from Bhopal to Indore reportedly went out of control and crashed into a bridge before plunging around 30 feet onto a service road.
Inspector Ravi K B, who was part of the Bengaluru cybercrime team, was among the four killed in the crash. The other deceased have been identified as bus driver Vikas Shukla, Belal Ali and Jyotiraditya Singh Gaud.
Eleven people sustained injuries in the accident, with four reported to be in critical condition. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Bengaluru police personnel among injured
Sub-inspector Ramesh Nayak, ASI Srinivas and technical staff member Vishwanath, who were part of the Bengaluru cybercrime team, were injured in the crash.
Srinivas is reported to be in a critical condition and is undergoing treatment, officials said.
Team was looking for cybercrime suspect
According to police, the Bengaluru cybercrime team had travelled to Madhya Pradesh in search of a suspect in connection with a cybercrime case. The personnel were travelling by bus from Bengaluru towards Indore when the accident occurred.
Police said the bus lost control near a bridge on the Bhopal bypass and crashed into the structure. The impact reportedly threw four occupants out of the bus, causing them to fall around 30 feet onto the service road below.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
