Delhi: Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh launches Rs 10 crore projects in Pooth Khurd

New Delhi, June 14 (IANS) Delhi Social Welfare Minister and Bawana MLA Ravinder Indraj Singh on Sunday launched various development projects worth Rs 10 crore in Pooth Khurd village under the Delhi Rural Development Board Fund, an official said.

The projects include strengthening of village roads, construction of pavements, development of drains and several other works aimed at improving the drainage system and civic infrastructure, the official said in a statement.

Upon completion of these projects, connectivity in Pooth Khurd and the surrounding areas will improve significantly, the problem of waterlogging will be reduced and local residents will benefit from enhanced civic amenities, said Ravinder Indraj Singh.

“Strengthening internal rural connectivity will also facilitate smoother daily commuting, improve access to commercial activities and ensure better connectivity to essential public services. The initiative marks an important step towards strengthening rural infrastructure through the Delhi Rural Development Board,” he said.

Ravinder Indraj Singh stated that providing modern and improved infrastructure to Delhi’s rural areas through the Delhi Rural Development Board Fund is a key priority of the government.

He said that the development projects launched in Pooth Khurd are not limited to the construction of roads and drains alone but have been planned with a comprehensive vision for the village’s overall development, improved quality of life and future requirements.

The Minister emphasised that strong roads, an efficient drainage system and better connectivity form the foundation of sustainable rural development.

The Minister said that only a day earlier development projects worth Rs 20 crore had been launched in Deep Vihar and now projects worth Rs 10 crore have been initiated in Pooth Khurd.

He said that this reflects the government’s serious commitment and focused approach towards the development of the Bawana Assembly constituency.

In the coming period, these development initiatives will become clearly visible on the ground and the people of the region will directly benefit from and experience the positive impact of these projects.

The Minister stated that the Delhi government, through the Delhi Rural Development Board, is continuously working to strengthen basic civic amenities in every village and colony of the Bawana Assembly constituency.

He said that additional projects will also be undertaken in the future to promote development, sanitation, transportation facilities and the expansion of civic infrastructure, with the objective of integrating rural Delhi more effectively into the mainstream of development.
