Mohali, June 5 (IANS) A shocking case involving the brutal murder of a young woman working at a private company in Mohali, Punjab, has come to light. The accused has been identified as her colleague. Following the fatal stabbing, the assailant attempted to commit suicide, but was unsuccessful.

Both individuals were rushed in critical condition to a hospital. Unfortunately, the young woman succumbed to her severe injuries. The deceased has been identified as Dimple, a resident of Patiala. Meanwhile, the condition of the accused, identified as Harvinder Mann, alias Harry, remains critical.

The police are currently investigating the matter; a formal case of murder has been registered, and a comprehensive inquiry has been initiated.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that both individuals were employed at the same private firm, which specialises in packers and movers services. They had been working together for approximately three years. During this period, a friendship developed between the two, which eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. However, the couple had broken up some time ago.

Following the breakup, the accused was left deeply shattered and allegedly began suffering from significant mental distress. He repeatedly attempted to mend his fractured relationship with Dimple, but his efforts proved futile. Consequently, he became increasingly agitated and unable to accept the separation.

Witnessing this horrific scene, other employees present at the office were left absolutely terrified. Upon receiving urgent information about the incident, police rushed to the spot. Both critically injured individuals were immediately transported to the hospital, where doctors ultimately pronounced Dimple dead. Harvinder continues to undergo intensive medical treatment.

Further legal proceedings, including the recording of their statements, will be initiated as soon as they arrive.

The SHO stated that the police received information regarding the incident at approximately 7:40 p.m. A response team was immediately dispatched, and a forensic team was summoned to collect all necessary physical evidence. CCTV footage from the premises has also been seized and is currently being examined.
