New Delhi: As part of its efforts to strengthen the party’s legal wing nationwide, the Congress has decided to hold a major legal convention in coastal Karnataka, with Mangaluru set to host the event on January 24.
The decision was taken during a series of meetings held in Delhi on Wednesday, where senior AICC leaders and legal experts interacted with Congress leaders from Karnataka to chalk out a strategy to reinforce the party’s legal units.

At the direction of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress MPs and legal stalwarts Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Salman Khurshid held detailed discussions with Karnataka leaders, stressing the need to strengthen law units across the country and create a comprehensive directory of Congress-affiliated lawyers.

The KPCC had deputed legal experts including KPCC legal unit president C.M. Dhananjaya, former government advocate and Dakshina Kannada Congress legal unit president Manoraj Rajeev, along with former Karnataka Bar Council presidents Srinivas Babu and Muniyappa, to participate in the deliberations.
